Many people experience wanting to change their career, but are unsure of what steps to take to do that. According to our participants, it can be challenging and often overwhelming learning a new role late into their careers, or in the field they majored in. Career Path is a platform where users can view and choose from many courses to learn, develop, and gain certificates upon completion of a course. Users will be able to get live feedback from advisors (based on the amount of users enrolled), or feedback from peers taking the same course.
The goal of this design is to instruct and offer users the ability to choose a course to build foundational knowledge and be job ready, upon completion.
People will turn to a career or industry that they believe is the right fit for them, or that they will make a good amount of money pursuing. After spending years in that industry, people tend to give up searching for a career that they have a strong passion for. One question that most candidates will ask about a career is; "How is the work life balance?" Career Path allows users to gain insight into their selected path from.
What can be a daunting, exciting, and stressful process, transitioning to a new career I wanted to make an experience where users can learn what the challenges are and how they can be overcome. With the ability to learn from instructors or even users, who are in role that they may study for.
Sam (25) a recent college graduate, shared they worked a retail job as a sales team member, throughout working in retail Sam felt they were unable to focus on their passions. Sam enjoys working with digital media, and wants to learn to be a visual designer. Sam has been looking into bootcamps and online courses to learn more about the industry.
